Jakarta, December 4, 2024 – In anticipation of International Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) 2024 on December 9, IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK), a subsidiary of Pelindo Terminal Petikemas, has partnered with the North Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office to promote anti-corruption initiatives within the port environment. An anti-corruption socialization event held through a focus group discussion (FGD) addressed the theme of Risks of Bribery and Gratification Arising from the Proliferation of Online Loans (Pinjol), Online Gambling (Judol), and Their Legal Implications. The event was attended by over 200 port stakeholders.
Guna Mulyana, President Director of IPC TPK, emphasized in his opening remarks the need for a collective commitment from all port stakeholders to uphold anti-corruption principles. He expressed hope that this event would inspire new insights and understanding regarding various forms of corrupt practices.
The FGD was conducted in a hybrid format and involved employees, business partners, vendors, and service users from IPC TPK’s six operational regions. Key speakers included North Jakarta Chief Prosecutor Dandeni Herdiana, S.H., M.H., and Head of Civil and State Administration Division Wahyu Oktaviandi, S.H., M.H., who discussed the implementation of Anti-Bribery Management Systems and elaborated on the legal consequences of bribery, gratification, online loans, and online gambling.
During the event, IPC TPK management also introduced updates to its Whistleblowing System and Gratification Control System in line with Pelindo Group’s adherence to ISO 37001:2016 standards, which are integrated with the whistleblowing platform of Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), known as Aroma.
“Corruption is not a new issue. The Prosecutor’s Office continues to address it through various initiatives such as FGDs as a preventive measure. Online loans and gambling often lead to bribery. In several cases handled by the Prosecutor’s Office, these factors served as a backdrop to corrupt practices. Through Hakordia, we are reminded to remain vigilant. We appreciate IPC TPK for facilitating this event, which aligns with the Government’s programs to combat corruption and bribery in all forms, thereby strengthening our commitment to creating corruption-free ports,” concluded North Jakarta Chief Prosecutor Dandeni Herdiana.
IPC TPK is committed to proactively communicating anti-corruption and anti-gratification measures to prevent malpractice in container handling operations. IPC TPK regularly organizes similar socialization activities. In 2022, the company collaborated with the North Jakarta Police and the Corruption Eradication Commission to conduct anti-corruption and gratification awareness campaigns, which were attended by hundreds of operational workers across IPC TPK’s operational areas.
