Pontianak, 28 November 2025 — IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) Pontianak recorded a 14.3% increase in operational performance in October 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. Operational volume reached 26,275 TEUs, up from 22,994 TEUs in October last year. This achievement reinforces the positive growth trend of the largest container terminal in West Kalimantan.

“This increase proves that our main strength lies in field productivity. With improved handling per call, we aim to ensure the smooth flow of logistics in West Kalimantan,” said M. Loutfie Hidayat, Manager of IPC TPK Area Pontianak.

Performance growth was driven by an increase in 40-foot containers of up to 24%, vessel loading and unloading productivity reaching 611 TEUs per call, as well as the addition of 14 calls from one of the shipping lines during October 2025.

According to data from BPS West Kalimantan, export conditions in September 2025 actually experienced a sharp decline of 71%, from USD 222.93 million in 2024 to USD 63.22 million in 2025. However, imports increased slightly by 0.3%.

A striking contrast emerged as trade activity appeared sluggish in September, yet port performance showed renewed strength in October through increased container traffic—driven primarily by domestic logistics and shipments of consumer goods and manufactured products.

“In the midst of declining export trends, port operations must act as a driver, not merely a follower of the market. We are committed to boosting logistics performance so that West Kalimantan’s trade can recover,” Loutfie concluded.
