Jakarta, October 17, 2024 – IPC Container Terminal (IPC TPK) has consistently sustained its performance improvements in the third quarter of 2024. Operational performance in September reached 264,262 TEUs, reflecting a 10.3% increase compared to the same period last year, which recorded 239,413 TEUs. This growth was driven by a rise in domestic container traffic in areas such as Jambi, Pontianak, and Teluk Bayur, as well as by ad hoc services provided to certain shipping lines in the Tanjung Priok region.

Pramestie Wulandary, Corporate Secretary of IPC TPK, emphasized that IPC TPK is focused on improving performance and providing expanded facilities to ensure efficient, responsive services that address the challenges and needs of its customers.

As of September 2024, IPC TPK’s total cargo handling reached 2,300,306 TEUs, marking a 6.84% increase compared to 2,153,069 TEUs in the same period last year. The improvement in cargo handling aligns with growth in both export and import container flows, with 23,738 export boxes and 18,862 import boxes handled in 2024, compared to 23,588 export boxes and 16,288 import boxes in 2023.

This surge in container traffic has been attributed to increased demand for various commodities, such as black pepper, coffee, fresh bananas, pineapples, rubber, and rubberwood from the Lampung region. In Pontianak, domestic container flows to and from Java have also contributed to growth. Teluk Bayur has seen an uptick due to rising volumes of Cassia Vera, cardboard/paper, and cement, along with an increase in full container volumes compared to August 2024.
