Salatiga, September 19, 2024 – For the first time, IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) organized the Pelindo Mengajar program for high school students at SMA Negeri 1 Salatiga, in the city of Salatiga, Central Java. The program, which was attended by 160 students and faculty members of SMA Negeri 1 Salatiga, is part of the educational sector’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, held in celebration of Pelindo’s anniversary on October 1st. On this occasion, IPC TPK introduced the maritime world, port industry, and Pelindo’s role as a state-owned enterprise (SOE) operating in the port sector.
Ahmad Mimbar, Director of Operations & Engineering at IPC TPK, stated, “Through Pelindo Mengajar, IPC TPK aims to play a role in developing human resources, educating the next generation with strong moral values, and making a positive impact on society, especially in the field of education.”
Pelindo Mengajar is a Social & Environmental Responsibility initiative conducted by the Pelindo Group across Indonesia, aimed at preparing the next generation as future leaders of Indonesia and supporting the creation of a resilient and competitive golden generation for Indonesia by 2045.
The goal of the Pelindo Mengajar program is to introduce Pelindo as an SOE managing port service businesses and to enhance students’ understanding of how Pelindo, as an SOE, impacts the logistics and port sector.
“In addition to introducing the port industry, we also presented the role of SOEs and introduced the concept of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) to prepare students for their future educational paths,” explained Mimbar.
Previously, the Pelindo Mengajar program was conducted by IPC TPK in two schools, namely SMA Negeri 15 Jakarta and SMA Negeri 3 Bandung. The event at SMA Negeri 1 Salatiga began with cultural performances by students, featuring traditional dances from the Setaman SMANSSA dance group, followed by a performance by the Viva Brio Choir vocal group. IPC TPK also provided educational facilities by donating two personal computers to support teaching and learning activities at SMA Negeri 1 Salatiga.
“We are grateful for the Pelindo Mengajar program at SMA Negeri 1 Salatiga. During the event, our students were very happy and enthusiastic, and it broadened their knowledge of how the Pelindo Group contributes to the country,” said Subroto, S.Pd, M.Pd, Principal of SMA Negeri 1 Salatiga.
