Jakarta, April 24, 2025 – IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK), a subsidiary of Pelindo Terminal Petikemas, has welcomed the inaugural voyage of the FESCO Intra Asia Service (FIAS) from FESCO Transportation Group. This service directly connects Port Klang, Pasir Gudang, Bangkok, and Ho Chi Minh City, while also providing further shipping connections from Ho Chi Minh City to Vladivostok or Saint Petersburg in Russia. FESCO has now expanded its FIAS service to Jakarta, with the KM HT Progres vessel calling at IPC TPK’s International Terminal 3, marking the start of this new service.
“The addition of this service strengthens IPC TPK’s position as a strategic hub for regional connectivity, particularly in Southeast Asia. With the new direct shipping route to Vietnam, we are supporting supply chain efficiency and offering more competitive logistics options for Indonesian exporters,” said Pramestie Wulandary, Corporate Secretary & External Relations of IPC Terminal Petikemas.
In Indonesia, FESCO is operated by Meratus Aryana Agency (MAA), a subsidiary of Meratus Group. With a transit time of just 5 days, the FIAS service is expected to boost economic ties between Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, while also connecting Indonesia to key destinations in Russia such as Vladivostok, Saint Petersburg, and other major cities.
According to Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam’s economic growth has made significant strides across various sectors. The country’s export commodity structure has gradually shifted from raw materials to processed goods, reflecting Vietnam’s deepening integration into global supply and production chains. This makes Vietnam an increasingly promising export destination for Indonesian businesses.
The KM HT Progres, a Panama-flagged vessel with an overall length (LOA) of 140 meters and a beam of 40 meters, loaded 150 TEUs at IPC TPK’s Terminal 3 in Tanjung Priok. After completing the loading and unloading process, the ship will continue its journey to Port Klang, Malaysia.
“We continue to strengthen the logistics ecosystem by positioning IPC TPK as the preferred port for regional and international services. This new service is expected to become a regular route supporting export volume growth to Vietnam,” added Pramestie.
