Palembang, June 21, 2025 – IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) Palembang has officially strengthened its logistics services with the addition of a new vessel operated by PT Samudera Agencies Indonesia. This addition increases the frequency of direct Singapore–Palembang routes from three times to four times per week, marking a significant milestone in improving the efficiency of export-import cargo movement in South Sumatra, particularly in Palembang.

As part of this initiative, barge BG BAHARI 278, towed by tugboat TB WAHANA 15, officially docked at IPC TPK Palembang on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 17:50 WIB. With a LOA of 79 meters and beam of 24.3 meters, the vessel successfully completed loading and unloading operations involving 184 TEUs, marking the start of more efficient and integrated terminal operations.

Agustian Chandra, Manager of IPC TPK Palembang Area, sees the vessel addition as a strategic move. “This new vessel will significantly support businesses in shipping goods internationally, especially in Palembang and the broader South Sumatra region,” he stated.

The Singapore–Palembang shipping route will now operate regularly once a week, offering a more efficient and reliable transportation option for export-import businesses in southern Sumatra.

“We hope this additional vessel will positively contribute to Palembang’s economic growth and expand market opportunities for businesses in South Sumatra,” Agustian Chandra added.

With this new service, IPC TPK Palembang reaffirms its commitment to continuously improving container terminal services and supporting regional economic growth through enhanced and more accessible logistics solutions.
