Mempawah, October 15, 2025 – Amid the rapid tide of globalization and national logistics transformation, IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK), a subsidiary of Pelindo Group, has taken concrete steps to strengthen maritime and logistics industry literacy among the younger generation through the “Pelindo Mengajar” (Pelindo Teaches) program. This year, the initiative was held at SMA Negeri 1 Mempawah Hilir, West Kalimantan — a region gaining attention since the inauguration of Kijing Port, one of Indonesia’s strategic national ports, in August 2022.
Unlike previous years, the 2025 edition of Pelindo Mengajar not only focused on introducing the role of ports but also aimed to raise awareness about career opportunities and innovation in container terminal management and logistics supply chains.
“We want students at SMAN 1 Mempawah Hilir to see ports as more than just places for loading and unloading goods. Behind those activities lies a system, technology, and human resources that play a vital role in the national economy,” said Guna Mulyana, President Director of IPC TPK.
A total of 150 students enthusiastically participated in the inspirational class. In addition to the President Director, the event also featured Yanuar Evyanto, Director of Finance, HR, and Risk Management at IPC TPK, who shared insights on the importance of risk management and operational efficiency in modern port operations.
Beyond knowledge-sharing, IPC TPK also demonstrated its commitment to improving education quality by donating 3 All-in-One PCs, 1 tablet, and 3 smartphones for outstanding students. This support is expected to strengthen the school’s digital learning ecosystem.
Acting Principal of SMAN 1 Mempawah Hilir, Purmiasih, S.Pd, expressed appreciation for IPC TPK’s initiative.
“This program not only broadens students’ horizons but also introduces new perspectives on the world of work and the logistics industry — something they may have never imagined before,” she said.
This initiative is also part of Pelindo Group’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 4 – Quality Education, emphasizing equitable access to knowledge and future industries.
“We believe that port development means little without human development around it. The youth of Mempawah must be part of that value chain — not just spectators, but drivers of change,” Guna Mulyana concluded.
Through Pelindo Mengajar, IPC TPK reaffirms that ports are not only national logistics hubs but also centers of knowledge transfer and inspiration — where education, economy, and regional futures truly come together.
