Jakarta, June 11, 2026 – IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) has further strengthened international logistics connectivity with the inaugural call of Gold Star Line’s South China Indonesia Service at International Operation Terminal 3, Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta.
The MV AS Carolina became the first vessel (maiden voyage) of the service to berth at IPC TPK on Monday (June 8) at 9:30 p.m. WIB. The service connects major ports in South China—Yantian, Xiamen, and Nansha—with Jakarta and Surabaya serving as distribution hubs in Indonesia.
Yanuar Evyanto, Acting Director of Commercial and Business Development at IPC TPK, stated that the new service represents another milestone in strengthening the rapidly expanding intra-Asia logistics network, driven by growing regional trade activities.
“IPC TPK remains committed to ensuring the readiness of its infrastructure, terminal facilities, and operational reliability to provide efficient, secure, and timely services for global shipping lines and customers,” said Yanuar.
The MV AS Carolina is a Portugal-flagged container vessel with a Length Overall (LOA) of 222 meters and a beam of 30 meters. During its inaugural call at IPC TPK, the vessel successfully handled 1,209 containers.
The launch of the South China Indonesia Service further expands Indonesia’s direct connectivity with South China’s major industrial centers, which have long served as one of the world’s leading manufacturing hubs. The service is expected to provide a more competitive distribution alternative while supporting smoother supply chains for Indonesian businesses.
Previously, IPC TPK had already been serving the South China Java X-Press (SCJX) operated by X-Press Feeders, which also connects Indonesia with South China. The addition of this new service reflects the growing trade volume and increasing demand for logistics connectivity between Indonesia and China.
Supported by 24/7 operations and the continued advancement of digitalized port services, IPC TPK is optimistic about accommodating the continued growth of bilateral trade flows between Indonesia and China.
