Jakarta, July 18, 2023 – IPC Terminal Petikemas/IPC TPK once again organized a blood donation social action involving all stakeholders at Tanjung Priok Port. This initiative was part of the celebration of IPC TPK’s 10th anniversary, which fell on July 10. In collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross, this activity successfully collected 100 units of blood in a 3-hour event.

“On the occasion of IPC TPK’s anniversary, we want to raise awareness and compassion for others through blood donation. Every year, we regularly organize this activity as an effort to meet the blood needs that depend on the participation of the community,” explained Ahmad Mimbar, Director of Operations & Engineering at IPC TPK.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) standards, the minimum blood requirement in a country is 2% of its population. IPC TPK plays a role in contributing to the government’s efforts in encouraging stakeholders at the port to donate blood. The event was participated by 142 participants, including Pelindo Group employees and security personnel at Tanjung Priok Port, but only 100 individuals were eligible to donate blood.

As reported on http://Antaranews.com, the national blood supply fulfillment rate released by PMI (Indonesian Red Cross) as of June 2023 is 93%. Meanwhile, the available blood stock owned by Blood Donor Units throughout Indonesia, as reported on dataindonesia.id until June 2023, is 77,438 units.

“Alhamdulillah (Thank God), the enthusiasm of the donors was extraordinary, exceeding the number of blood bags we prepared. We hope that this activity can have a positive impact on society, both for the donors and for those in need of blood donation, as well as help meet the national blood stock requirements,” Ahmad concluded.
