Jakarta, 27 January 2026 – IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) continues to strengthen its commitment to building a safe, resilient, and sustainable port working environment. Through its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, IPC TPK organized an Emergency Rescue & First Aid Training for Cargo Handling Workers (Tenaga Kerja Bongkar Muat/TKBM) at IPC TPK Tanjung Priok Area, as part of the commemoration of National Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Month 2026, which carries the theme “Building a Professional, Reliable, and Collaborative National OSH Management Ecosystem.”
As a key node in the national logistics chain, ports are characterized by high-risk working environments. Therefore, IPC TPK proactively promotes the strengthening of occupational safety competencies not only for internal employees, but also for all stakeholders directly involved in port operational activities, including TKBM as the frontline of loading and unloading services.
The training equipped participants with essential emergency rescue and first aid skills, ranging from basic first aid principles, basic life support, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), to team-based rescue simulations. This capacity building is expected to minimize the risk of fatal accidents while ensuring uninterrupted terminal operations for service users.
“TKBM plays a strategic role in ensuring port operations run safely and efficiently. Safety is a shared responsibility, and synergy among all port personnel is the key to creating a safe working environment,” said Pramestie Wulandary, Corporate Secretary of IPC TPK.
From an Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) perspective, this initiative represents a concrete implementation of the Social pillar, particularly in workforce protection and the strengthening of safety culture. The program is also aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 8 — Decent Work and Economic Growth — by ensuring equal safety standards for all participants within the port logistics chain.
The Emergency Rescue & First Aid Training was officially opened by Stefanus Happy Yanuar Hadi, Assistant Manager of Operations of IPC TPK Tanjung Priok Area 2, and attended by Yudha Sutanto, Assistant Manager of Operations of IPC TPK Tanjung Priok Area 1. In his remarks, Stefanus emphasized the importance of preparedness and collaboration among all port personnel in creating a safe and sustainable working environment.
The training, facilitated by professional instructors from the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) North Jakarta, was attended by 27 TKBM personnel operating within the Tanjung Priok Port area and was conducted at the Indonesian Maritime Museum. IPC TPK aims for participants not only to master technical competencies, but also to serve as safety leaders within their respective working environments.
“Through this cross-stakeholder collaboration, we are optimistic that the Tanjung Priok Port ecosystem will become increasingly resilient, supported by a continuously strengthening safety culture that provides security and confidence for workers, service users, and all stakeholders,” Pramestie concluded.
