Jakarta, February 3, 2026 – IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) reaffirmed its commitment to supporting law enforcement efforts and environmental protection through synergy with the Indonesian Navy Fleet Command Regional Command (Koarmada RI Koarmada III) in uncovering a case involving the shipment of mangrove charcoal without official documentation at Tanjung Priok Port.

Monitoring was conducted on two 40-foot containers that arrived at Pier 210, Tanjung Priok Port, aboard MV ICON JAMES II 13. The containers were found to be carrying mangrove charcoal originating from Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan, and were not accompanied by valid documents in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

During the joint inspection process, authorities discovered mangrove charcoal cargo with a total weight of approximately 74 tons. All monitoring and container opening activities were carried out in accordance with established procedures while prioritizing the precautionary principle.

IPC TPK Corporate Secretary, Pramestie Wulandary, stated that IPC TPK fully supports firm actions by authorities in maintaining port security and environmental sustainability. “IPC TPK is fully committed to supporting the Indonesian Navy and all law enforcement agencies in preventing and taking action against illegal activities in port areas. Container terminals are not only logistics hubs but also the front line in upholding legal compliance and environmental sustainability,” said Pramestie.

She added that mangrove charcoal is a product derived from mangrove forests that have important ecological functions, and its utilization must comply with applicable regulations. “We ensure that all loading and unloading activities within IPC TPK are conducted in accordance with regulations. Cross-agency synergy is key to creating ports that are safe, orderly, and sustainable,” she added.

As a container terminal operator, IPC TPK continues to strengthen coordination with the Indonesian Navy, law enforcement agencies, and other relevant institutions to safeguard the integrity of the national logistics chain and prevent misuse of port facilities.
