Jakarta, 20 December 2025 – IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) facilitated a series of disaster relief shipments through Terminal Operation 3 (TER3) at Tanjung Priok Port to Sumatra, particularly Aceh Province. This initiative forms part of efforts to accelerate logistics distribution to support disaster response following impacts on infrastructure and interregional access in Aceh, where ports play a vital role as key nodes in ensuring the smooth flow of humanitarian aid.
The shipment of relief supplies reflects collaboration and synergy among shipping line PT Temas Tbk, the Government through the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), the Ministry of Transportation, KSOP Utama Tanjung Priok, the INSA Association, and PT Pertamina (Persero), with operational support from IPC TPK. As part of Pelindo, IPC TPK reaffirms its readiness to continue collaborating with the government in supporting strategic programs, particularly in ensuring the speed, reliability, and continuity of national logistics distribution, including in disaster response.
The relief distribution was carried out using two vessels: MV Belik Mas V 8325 on the Balikpapan–Jakarta route and KM Barito Mas V 96 on the Jakarta–Lhokseumawe route. MV Belik Mas V 8325 berthed at Terminal Operation 3 (TER3) of Tanjung Priok Port on Friday, 19 December 2025, to discharge container cargo. Subsequently, on Saturday, 20 December 2025, the cargo was transshipped to KM Barito Mas V 96 before departing for Lhokseumawe Port.
The departure of KM Barito Mas V 96 was officially marked by the Minister of Transportation along with related stakeholders, symbolizing cross-sector synergy in ensuring the smooth distribution of humanitarian aid to Aceh. Coordinated and timely port operations are key to ensuring the rapid delivery of assistance to affected areas.
The aid shipment included 12 containers (20-foot units) containing assistance from the Ministry of PUPR, PT Temas Tbk, the DPP INSA Association, the Lhokseumawe community in Jakarta, and the Nusantara Adventurer Community. In addition to containerized cargo, the assistance also comprised vehicles and break-bulk cargo, including two tanker trucks, three box trucks equipped with water treatment installations, and four water treatment units, as part of logistical support for disaster-affected areas. Additional logistical support was provided by PT Pertamina (Persero) in the form of fuel drums and LPG to support energy and operational needs in affected regions.
The aid shipment was carried out in response to disaster conditions that disrupted access to clean water in several areas of Aceh Province. Limited availability of clean water has hampered daily activities and increased health risks, necessitating rapid support in the form of water tanker trucks and water treatment installations to meet the basic needs of affected communities. In addition, the assistance included fuel drums and LPG cylinders to ensure energy availability for emergency response operations and community activities. In this context, ports play a strategic role as national logistics gateways, ensuring that aid can move quickly, safely, and in a coordinated manner to support emergency response and sustainable recovery processes.
“The smooth loading and unloading process is a critical factor in ensuring that assistance can be promptly forwarded to affected areas. As part of our support for accelerating the distribution of humanitarian aid, IPC TPK provided a waiver of handling charges for the loading and unloading process, with an estimated value of up to IDR 24 million,” said Pramestie Wulandary, Corporate Secretary and External Relations of PT IPC Terminal Petikemas.
