Jakarta, May 6, 2025 – As a tangible demonstration of its commitment to the port ecosystem and efforts to support smooth operations, IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) distributed free meal packages to workers in the container terminal area, including loading and unloading laborers (TKBM) and truck drivers across all IPC TPK work zones on Friday (May 2). This initiative is part of the Pelindo Peduli Program, with plans to conduct food distribution regularly, twice a month. The program reflects the company’s social responsibility and appreciation for the vital role these workers play in supporting cargo handling operations.
“On this initial occasion, we distributed 410 meal packages to TKBM workers, truck drivers, and terminal employees. They are the front liners in maintaining productivity at the port. Providing them with proper meals amidst their busy schedules is our way of ensuring they stay healthy and productive,” said Pramestie Wulandary, Corporate Secretary of IPC TPK.
A study by the Harvard Business Review found that providing healthy meals at the workplace can boost productivity by up to 25%. With free meals available, workers tend to be more focused and engaged, reducing the time spent leaving the workplace to find food.
Beyond being a social initiative, this program is also expected to positively impact work efficiency. By providing meals directly at the workplace, terminal workers no longer need to leave the terminal area to look for food outside—a practice that has previously affected operational processes.
In addition to enhancing comfort, this step is part of the company’s efforts to create a work ecosystem that supports smooth and timely cargo loading and unloading operations, which in turn contributes to greater customer satisfaction and smoother national logistics supply chains.
