Jambi, 8 May 2026 – IPC Container Terminal (IPC TPK) Jambi Area supports the smooth export of cinnamon as a flagship regional commodity through the optimization of services at the Container Terminal of Talang Duku Port. This effort is in line with the strategic cooperation between PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) Regional 2 Jambi and Cassia Co-Op in driving the export of cinnamon from Kerinci to the global market.
Through this collaboration, cinnamon exports using containers are targeted to reach 1,500 tons throughout 2026, with the United States, Europe, and Asia as the target markets. Indonesia is one of the world’s leading cinnamon producers, contributing around 20% to global supply, while the Kerinci region in Jambi Province has become one of the main centers contributing the majority of national production and is known as a producer of export-quality cinnamon.
The Operations Manager of IPC TPK Jambi Area, Wedhar Tani Aji, stated that the terminal’s operational readiness is a key factor in maintaining the smooth flow of exports.
“As a terminal operator, we ensure the readiness of logistics services so that they remain efficient and integrated, enabling distribution to run more smoothly and on time. This is key to maintaining the competitiveness of the region’s flagship commodities in the global market,” he said.
He added that Jambi has a variety of flagship commodity potentials with great opportunities to grow in the international market, such as coffee, rubber, areca nut, and others. The presence of reliable ports and logistics systems is expected to serve as a connector for local products so that they become increasingly recognized in the world market.
“In principle, the port is ready to support the export momentum of commodities native to Jambi. Not only cinnamon, but there is still much regional potential that can be developed together. Of course, this requires collaboration and synergy among the government, business players, farmers, and all stakeholders so that this potential can be maximized,” he added.
This collaboration not only facilitates distribution, but also expands international market access for local commodities and increases added value for business players and farmers in the region. With the support of an efficient logistics system, Kerinci cinnamon is expected to be able to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the world spice supply chain.
Going forward, IPC TPK Jambi Area will continue to improve the quality of port services and operational efficiency in order to support the role of Talang Duku Port as a gateway for the export of Jambi’s flagship commodities to the international market.
