Jakarta, February 6, 2024 – IPC TPK, a subsidiary of Pelindo Terminal Petikemas, held the TJSL Blood Donation Program at the Indonesian Maritime Museum. This activity is organized as part of the National Occupational Safety and Health Month, which runs from January 12 to February 12 each year. The program is held to foster a sense of humanity among workers in the Tanjung Priok Port environment.
Acting President Director of IPC TPK, Ahmad Mimbar, stated that blood donation is a routine annual agenda for IPC TPK. The spirit is to share and care for others. This humanitarian action is expected to foster a sense of mutual assistance, especially for those in need of blood supplies.
According to data published by the UDD PMI DKI Jakarta, the blood supply in DKI Jakarta currently stands at only 398 bags of various blood types. With this number, the blood supply in DKI Jakarta is considered to be running low.
“I regularly participate in blood donation activities. Besides being able to help others and be beneficial, it also makes the body healthier. I also become aware of my health condition because before donating, I am checked by a doctor,” said Eko, one of the donors.
The target of this TJSL blood donation program is to collect 100 bags of blood. Donors enthusiastically participated in this activity. Starting from the registration process, health checks, to the donation process, everything proceeded quickly and orderly. The activity was attended by 115 participants consisting of Pelindo Group employees and security personnel at the Tanjung Priok Port.
“Alhamdulillah, even before the event officially opened, donors were already enthusiastically arriving. We hope this activity can help those in need of blood supplies. In addition, IPC TPK will continue to contribute, both operationally and in terms of social responsibility activities for the community,” Mimbar concluded.
