Jakarta, July 8, 2024 – IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) continues its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the education sector by providing training and competency certification for residents near Tanjung Priok Port. This year, 120 participants who registered will undergo a three-month training program, with courses including Digital Marketing, Graphic Design, and Intermediate Computer Operation.

“In today’s competitive era, supplementary skills in addition to educational background are essential to succeed in the job market. After evaluating last year’s training and competency exams, we observed that this program positively impacts participants who are residents close to the port,” said Guna Mulyana, President Director of IPC TPK.

The training and certification program is an extension of the Pelindo Group Joint CSR initiative that began in 2020. Through this initiative, five Pelindo subsidiaries collaborate to enhance the skills of school dropouts via formal and informal education. For the implementation, Pelindo Group partners with the Muhammadiyah Youth Organization of North Jakarta to conduct the activities.

In the 2022 Training and Certification Program, 80 participants who were unemployed passed the certification exams. After obtaining competency certification from the National Professional Certification Board (BNSP), several participants secured new jobs with increased income. Additionally, some participants were motivated to gain knowledge to become freelancers in the fields of design and digital marketing.

“We express our appreciation and gratitude for IPC TPK’s and the Pelindo Group’s consistent support in enhancing the competencies of the youth around Tanjung Priok Port. Besides increased community income, we have also observed a reduction in social issues. We hope similar programs continue to be held so that more participants can benefit from them,” said Rizki, Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Youth Organization of North Jakarta.
