Jakarta, March 14, 2022 – IPC Terminal Petikemas / IPC TPK’s commitment to providing effective loading and unloading services has paid off. IPC TPK has once again been trusted to serve a new international route opened by Meratus Line, one of the best shipping companies in Southeast Asia. The MV Meratus Sorong vessel, which serves a Direct Call to the bamboo curtain country with a new route called China Indo Express (Jakarta-Semarang-Surabaya-Qingdao-Shanghai), will dock at Terminal 3 Tanjung Priok tonight.

“Direct call services are an opportunity for increasing trade in goods and services and supporting the growth of the Indonesian economy, especially in exports and imports. As the terminal operator, we will continue to take strategic initiatives by partnering with shipping companies to open new routes,” said David Sirait, Commercial and Business Development Director of IPC TPK.

The MV Meratus Sorong with a LOA of 153 meters and a draught of 9.5 meters will carry 415 TEUs of containers loaded at Terminal 3 IPC TPK, Tanjung Priok. The full capacity of this vessel is 1,272 TEUs of containers.

“The Covid-19 pandemic, inter-country conflicts, and container crises have had an impact on the maritime world. However, this has not deterred our commitment to collaborating in realizing a container terminal network that supports the reduction of logistics costs and the increase of national trade. We appreciate Meratus Line’s step in expanding its service network through this new route opened today. Hopefully, this collaboration can provide added value not only for all stakeholders but also for the national economy,” concluded David.
