Jakarta, August 15, 2025 – Ready to implement the Terminal Booking System (TBS) for the Tanjung Priok Port operational area, IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) held a socialization event for stakeholders such as service users and partners. The implementation of TBS is part of the digital service transformation aimed at improving operational efficiency, transparency and accountability, enhancing customer service, as well as data security and reliability. The implementation of TBS is expected to boost operational efficiency and reduce truck congestion at the port.
“TBS is implemented as an effort to promote logistics cost efficiency by speeding up service time by reducing the number of truck queues and avoiding congestion at the terminal,” said Ahmad Mimbar, Director of Operations & Engineering at IPC TPK.
TBS is an application-based system used by stakeholders to schedule truck arrivals for container deliveries to and from the terminal in a scheduled manner, adjusting to the container terminal service capacity.
With this system, IPC TPK as the terminal operator can schedule and evenly distribute the planned truck arrivals, optimize Terminal Handling Capacity, increase the productivity of external trucks (Truck Round Time/TRT), reduce air pollution caused by truck queue congestion at the Port, and operational cost efficiency, all of which lead to reduced truck queues in the Port environment.
“IPC TPK applies 3 time slots with an 8-hour duration for each slot daily. Starting from Slot 1 at 00.00 – 07.59 WIB, Slot 2 at 08.00 – 15.59 WIB, and Slot 3 at 16.00 – 23.59 WIB. Thus, the distribution of truck arrivals becomes more planned, in accordance with the available terminal capacity,” said Ahmad.
This socialization was conveyed to work partners and service users in the IPC TPK Area Tanjung Priok 1, Area Tanjung Priok 2, and Terminal Support Area. The event was attended by 7 Cargo Handling Partner Companies and 13 Shipping Line Companies, IPC TPK management, and PT ILCS. It is hoped that this socialization can enhance collaboration between partners and service users to facilitate the Go Live Terminal Booking System process at Tanjung Priok Port.
