Jakarta, March 15, 2024 – IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK), one of the container terminal operators at Tanjung Priok Port, the largest port in Indonesia, consistently strives to ensure safety, health, and workplace safety in its operational area. Safety, health, and workplace safety are key to the smooth flow of container loading and unloading processes and cargo flow at the port. One effort is carried out by conducting Joint Drills with stakeholders, subsidiaries of the Pelindo Group, security personnel, and partners operating at Tanjung Priok Port (5/3).
“IPC TPK continues to create a safe working environment, one of which is through joint drill activities where emergency response simulations are conducted in the operational area. The port must be safe and free from disturbances for the smooth distribution of goods. Joint drills are important in aligning perceptions and educating all related stakeholders,” said Guna Mulyana, President Director of IPC TPK.
The series of joint drills include morning roll call, operator rescue, firefighting, and training in the use of fire extinguishers in fire situations. These activities are aimed at understanding rescue techniques and the use of fire extinguishers during emergency situations. The activities began with a joint roll call between IPC TPK, PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok, Pelindo Regional 2 Tanjung Priok, Pelindo Daya Sejahtera Security, IPC TPK’s Loading and Unloading Company Partners, and Tanjung Priok Port firefighters. The morning roll call was led by Pelindo Regional 2 Tanjung Priok. It was attended by Tanjung Priok 1 IPC TPK Area Manager Hermana Widhyohadi, Representatives of PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok Management, Representatives of Pelindo Regional 2 Tanjung Priok Management, and 100 security personnel consisting of HSSE Officers, Firefighters, and Security.
The previous year, IPC TPK held an Exercise ISPS Code activity at Tanjung Priok Port. The activity was carried out with simulations of port security countermeasures against pirates/individuals entering the port without permission with the aim of disrupting port operations and security. Thus, this simulation activity has become a routine agenda for IPC TPK in disaster preparedness and port security.
“With the conduct of the Joint Drill, it is hoped that the Emergency Response Team can take appropriate actions to address emergency conditions in the port area with proper coordination and communication,” concluded Guna.
