Bandar Lampung, October 30, 2024 – For the first time, IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) Area Panjang has facilitated direct call loading and unloading services to China. The maiden voyage of MV MAERSK NASSJO docked on October 29, 2024, at Pier E of Panjang Port, Lampung, with a route from Jakarta – Tanjung Pelepas – Qingdao.

“This new service is driven by the increasing exports of key commodities from Lampung Province, such as pineapples, coffee, pulp & paper, and palm oil derivatives like palm acid oil. We hope this service will encourage further export enhancements from Panjang,” said Anang Subagyono, Manager of IPC TPK Area Panjang.

The Liberian-flagged vessel MV MAERSK NASSJO has a Length Overall (LOA) of 171.9 meters, a BEAM of 32 meters, and a draft of -7 mLWS. The new service commenced with the loading and unloading of 1,033 containers / 1,369 TEUs. This service enables businesses to ship goods directly to China without transit.

According to the Lampung Province Central Bureau of Statistics, exports in August 2024 increased by 43.60% compared to the previous year, with imports also up by 1.13%. China is one of the largest export destinations for Lampung Province.

“From an operational perspective, our focus is to optimize loading and unloading services so that docked vessels can be handled quickly and efficiently, ensuring readiness of both personnel and equipment. We are optimistic that collaboration with shipping lines will attract larger vessels with direct call services to various international destinations,” Anang concluded.
