Jakarta, October 29, 2024 – IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK), a subsidiary of Pelindo Terminal Petikemas (SPTP), has launched Port Safe, a safety awareness monitoring system for the IPC TPK work environment. The introduction of Port Safe represents the company’s commitment to innovation in port operations, as part of its digitalization journey towards becoming a Smart Port.

“We have launched this web-based application to enhance sterilization in port work areas. With Port Safe, we aim to achieve zero accidents, boost safety and comfort in operational activities within terminal areas, and increase terminal productivity,” said Guna Mulyana, President Director of IPC TPK.

The launch and introduction of Port Safe took place during the second QHSSE Forum of 2024. The QHSSE Forum serves as a platform for communication and discussion between IPC TPK management and stakeholders regarding the implementation of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) aspects in the port. Held at the Indonesia Maritime Museum, the event was attended by IPC TPK’s Board of Directors and Management, representatives from associations, Company Loading and Unloading partners, service users, and representatives from the Stevedoring Labor Force (TKBM) at IPC TPK Tanjung Priok.

Port Safe is a tool designed to enhance safety awareness among workers, ensure sterilization of IPC TPK’s container terminal areas, and monitor all activities of stakeholders entering or exiting the IPC TPK-managed container terminal. Currently, it is being implemented at the IPC TPK Area Tanjung Priok 2, with plans for gradual implementation across all IPC TPK work areas.

“Port Safe is an internally designed innovation by IPC TPK to enhance awareness among all port stakeholders on K3 (Occupational Safety, Health, and Security) practices within the IPC TPK work environment. It also maximizes the central control system to monitor and manage the terminal, mitigating unsafe, unhealthy, and unsecure conditions,” Guna concluded.

Through the Port Safe application, security officers are immediately notified in the event of unsafe, unhealthy, or unsecure conditions. Reports are sent in real-time to the Safety Control team, allowing the HSSE team to quickly monitor or escalate the report through CCTV monitoring and issue direct warnings on-site.
