Pontianak, March 17th, 2023 – IPC Terminal Petikemas/IPC TPK Area Pontianak has once again provided a new service for the Pontianak-Singapore route. This new service is offered by PT Pelayaran Sukses Sindo Damai in collaboration with shipping agent PT Putra Segara Mandiri. The opening of this new service is expected to increase export activity and contribute to economic growth in the Pontianak region and West Kalimantan province.
“We continue to support the government’s efforts to maintain economic stability in Indonesia by opening new services, especially in the Pontianak and West Kalimantan regions, amid the ongoing issue of global economic recession,” said Guna Mulyana, CEO of IPC TPK.
Data from the BPS of West Kalimantan province stated that the value of exports in January 2023 was US$ 156.78 million, an increase of 11.50% compared to December 2022. Agricultural products still remain the main export of West Kalimantan.
The Tongkang LL 2517, powered by Tug Boat TB LL WISRA owned by PT Pelayaran Sukses Sindo Damai, will transport 94 boxes or 107 TEUs of containers from Pontianak to Singapore, potentially increasing the income of businesses in Pontianak.
The ceremony was attended by M. Loutfie Hidayat (Area Manager of IPC TPK Area Pontianak), Hidayat (representative of PT Pelayaran Sukses Sindo Damai), Amalia Putri (representative of PT Putra Segara Mandiri), Endang (representative of DPW INSA), Ervin Bayu (DGM Commercial of Pelindo Regional 2 Pontianak), and IPC TPK Area Pontianak management.
