Jakarta, February 21, 2024 – IPC Terminal Petikemas/IPC TPK Area Tanjung Priok 2 organized a Fumigation Activity Awareness session at the IPC Terminal Petikemas Area. This initiative is part of IPC TPK’s efforts as a container terminal operator to delve deeper into fumigation activities and promote the implementation of the National Corruption Prevention Strategy Program (Stranas PK) at Tanjung Priok Port.

“Since late 2023, IPC TPK Area Tanjung Priok 2 has been providing fumigation services within the terminal. This is done to facilitate customers in handling both behandle and fumigation procedures within one TPS (Temporary Storage Area),” said Guna Mulyana, President Director of IPC TPK.

Fumigation efforts aim to meet strict requirements set by destination countries, especially regarding plant health and environmental concerns, as well as maintaining the cleanliness and safety of products. Containers often become ideal breeding grounds for pests and insects due to their humid conditions. Therefore, by implementing regular fumigation, the risk of losses due to pest infestations can be significantly reduced.

The fumigation awareness session was opened by the Head of DKI Jakarta Quarantine, Drh. Hari Yuwono Ady, M.Si, and the Area Manager of Tanjung Priok 2 IPC TPK, Adi Saputra. The Quarantine team acted as speakers, providing insights into the intricacies of fumigation. The event was attended by the Tanjung Priok 2 IPC TPK team and all IPC TPK working partners involved in container handling activities.

“This activity also represents IPC TPK’s commitment to maintaining the quality and safety of agricultural commodities to be imported and/or exported to various destination countries. Through this awareness session, we aim to enhance the knowledge of field workers and contribute to the national logistics ecosystem, prioritizing the quality and safety of products transported via containers,” concluded Guna.
