Jakarta, April 17, 2026 – Container throughput at PT IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) Jambi Area recorded significant growth in March 2026, driven by increased goods distribution activity ahead of Eid al-Fitr. Throughput volume rose 22.5% compared with the same period last year.
Operational data show IPC TPK Jambi Area handled 2,775 TEUs in March 2026, up from 2,265 TEUs in March 2025. This surge reflects heightened logistics mobility in the Jambi region for both domestic consumption needs and commodity distribution.
This performance strengthening aligns with Jambi Province’s solid foreign trade position. In January 2026, Jambi’s export value reached US$152.92 million, far exceeding imports of US$11.16 million, resulting in a substantial trade surplus. Jambi’s export structure—dominated by industrial and key commodity derivatives such as palm oil derivatives, rubber, and forestry products—also supported elevated logistics activity in the area.
IPC TPK Jambi Area Operations Manager Wedhar Tani Aji said the achievement is the result of the company’s consistency in maintaining reliable services. “This growth reflects our efforts to ensure dependable operations, accelerate loading and unloading services, and strengthen collaboration with all stakeholders,” he said.
Operationally, the March container flow increase was driven by a surge in domestic container volumes. Distribution of cement rose alongside extensive infrastructure development in the Jambi area. Shipments of staple goods such as rice, flour, and food and beverages also increased in line with rising demand ahead of Eid.
On the import side, a trend dominated by machinery and industrial equipment indicates ongoing production and construction activity. This has contributed to greater demand for efficient and reliable logistics services.
To sustain this momentum, IPC TPK Jambi Area continues to enhance operational readiness through upskilling human resources and maintaining and optimizing loading/unloading equipment. These measures aim to ensure terminal activities run smoothly, safely, and in accordance with service standards.
