Jakarta, April 14, 2026 – PT IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) maintained solid operational performance in the first quarter of 2026, recording total throughput of 850,768 TEUs, a 0.9% increase compared with 843,187 TEUs in the same period last year. This achievement demonstrates the company’s operational resilience amid logistics dynamics during the Eid al-Fitr period, including restrictions on freight transport intended to support the smooth flow of the national homecoming movement.
IPC TPK Corporate Secretary, Pramestie Wulandary, stated that this achievement was the result of the company’s anticipatory measures to optimize operations in a measured way, both before and after the logistics restrictions.
“IPC TPK optimized loading and unloading activities ahead of the restriction period, and ensured acceleration of cargo flow after the restrictions were lifted. This strategy allowed us to maintain distribution smoothness while minimizing potential terminal congestion,” said Pramestie.
In March 2026, loading and unloading activity was recorded at 250,352 TEUs, a decline of about 14% compared with 290,923 TEUs in the same period last year. Nevertheless, performance in the domestic segment showed a positive trend, with volume growing 3.5% from 623,532 TEUs in March 2025 to 645,084 TEUs in March 2026. This increase reflects sustained domestic distribution activity and the driving force of domestic consumption during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.
Conversely, international container flows declined from 219,655 TEUs in March 2025 to 205,684 TEUs in March 2026, a decrease of about 6.4%, influenced by adjustments in global shipping schedules and cross-border distribution dynamics during the period.
IPC TPK also ensured operational synchronization with national policies regarding freight transport regulation during the Eid al-Fitr period. Intensive coordination was conducted with regulators and stakeholders to maintain a balance between logistics smoothness and public mobility.
In addition, IPC TPK continues to operate terminal services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (24/7) across all work areas. This readiness is a crucial factor in maintaining service reliability and ensuring national logistics flows remain optimal, even during periods of high operational pressure.
By region, throughput growth was recorded across several IPC TPK operational areas, including Tanjung Priok Area which grew by 1%, Pontianak Area by 1.6%, Panjang Area by 2%, and Teluk Bayur Area which posted the highest growth at 5.3%. This indicates the company’s consistent performance in managing cargo flows across Indonesia’s strategic regions.
