Jakarta, 19 September 2025 – IPC Terminal Petikemas (IPC TPK) has introduced an additional shipping route to Vietnam. This service is operated by HDAS CO with Karana Line as its agent. MV Alvan is the inaugural vessel to launch the route. The Iran-flagged ship docked at IPC TPK’s Terminal Operation 3 on 18 September and will follow the route Port Klang – Hai Phong – Pasir Gudang – Port Klang, with Jakarta as an adhoc call.

“We warmly welcome this maiden voyage from Tanjung Priok Port to Vietnam as a concrete step to strengthen Indonesia’s maritime connectivity with Southeast Asia. This initiative not only opens broader trade opportunities but also reinforces IPC Terminal Petikemas’ role as a strategic partner in supporting smooth logistics flows,” said Guna Mulyana, President Director of IPC TPK.

MV Alvan has a Length Overall (LOA) of 167 meters and a Beam of 26 meters. The total container handling on MV Alvan reached 450 boxes. The opening of this new route is expected to support export-import flows in the southern Asia region. Additionally, it may enhance Vietnam’s export-import value, which saw significant growth in 2024—15.4% higher than the previous year.

With an average annual trade growth of over 10%, both countries aim to reach a trade value of US$18–20 billion by 2025–2026. According to data from Vietnamese authorities, Vietnam’s exports to Indonesia hit US$6 billion in 2024—the highest in history. This new route is projected to accelerate the achievement of that target.
