Jakarta, August 2, 2024 – IPC Terminal Petikemas, a subsidiary of Pelindo Terminal Petikemas, reported positive performance in the first half of 2024, with a total container volume growth of 1,455,298 TEUs, an increase of 3.19% compared to the previous year’s 1,410,341 TEUs. This growth was driven by several factors, including an increase in vessel calls in various IPC TPK operational areas, such as Tanjung Priok for international vessels, as well as Pontianak, Palembang, and Jambi for domestic vessels.

“We are optimistic that operational performance in 2024 will surpass that of the previous year. In the first half of the year, we serviced several ad hoc vessels and introduced new domestic services. Operationally, we have implemented transformations across all operational areas to ensure the optimization of loading and unloading services, so that docked vessels can be handled quickly and efficiently,” said Pramestie Wulandary, Corporate Secretary of IPC TPK.

Throughout the first half of 2024, IPC TPK recorded 2,396 vessel visits across all operational areas, a slight decrease of 0.84% compared to the same period the previous year.

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Indonesia’s cumulative export value for the first half of 2024 decreased by 2.76% compared to the same period last year, while the import value increased by 0.84% over the same period. Despite the sluggish export-import growth, IPC TPK has continued to deliver strong performance.

“IPC TPK aims to achieve a container throughput of 3.2 million TEUs by the end of 2024. In addition to operational transformations, we are collaborating with shipping lines to promote transshipment hubs by providing feeder services from various ports such as Jambi and Panjang, in order to meet the targets set by our shareholders,” Pramestie concluded.
