Jakarta, September 20, 2023 – Welcoming the anniversary of Pelindo which falls on October 1, IPC TPK re-greened the port through tree planting. This greening action aims to reduce the impact of pollution and environmental preservation, especially in the Tanjung Priok Port area. A total of 2,500 trees were planted in the Tanjung Priok Port area in a campaign titled Pelindo Menanam Pohon, a collaboration between IPC TPK and Pelindo Group.

Guna Mulyana, President Director of IPC TPK, expressed his support for various efforts to preserve the environment both on land and at sea. The Pelindo Planting Trees program is held as a form of Pelindo’s devotion to greening the Port and improving air quality in the port environment and its surroundings by reducing levels of gas emissions caused by business activities at the port.

Coinciding with International Ozone Day which falls on September 16, symbolic tree planting in the form of productive plants was carried out on the grounds of the Indonesian Maritime Museum involving port stakeholders and partners. In total, there are 20,000 tree seedlings of various types planted in 4 Pelindo operating areas.

“We hope that the productive trees that are planted and maintained can later create a healthy and comfortable working environment. Collaboration with port stakeholders and work partners is important considering that environmental conservation requires the participation and involvement of all stakeholders at the Port,” said Guna Mulyana.

In the Pelindo Planting Trees Program this time IPC TPK contributed to the planting of 200 trees which are also planned to be planted in the terminal area. Previously in June, IPC TPK also contributed to planting 300 trees in the framework of World Environment Day. This is in line with the direction of the Ministry of SOEs, the Environmental Social Responsibility program focuses on three priority areas, one of which is environmental preservation.
