Jakarta, July 8th, 2022 – IPC Terminal Petikemas/IPC TPK serves an additional route to Southeast Asia. The ship, operated by Gold Star Line, serves a service called VMS (Vietnam Malaysia Service), and this route is expected to encourage the export-import activities to and from Vietnam and provide more fleet choices for exporters and importers in Indonesia.

“IPC TPK continues to support the government to boost the value of Indonesia’s export-import in Southeast Asia and strengthen Indonesia’s trade with Vietnam through the opening of this additional route,” said David P. Sirait, CEO of IPC TPK.

The Singapore-flagged MV Asiatic King has a LOA of 149.6 meters, BEAM of 22.7 meters, and Draught of 7.8 meters. The ship is planned to load and unload 1,118 TEUs at Terminal 3 IPC TPK. The ship owned by Gold Star Line applies Joint Service scheme in cooperation with Principal RCL (Regional Container Lines) called RVI (RCL Vietnam Indonesia), which had already anchored Maiden Voyage at Terminal 3 on June 30th, 2022, with the ship MV Yantra Bhum, so that the cargo on each service includes containers owned by RCL and GSL to strengthen the service.

“This is a good opportunity to expand Indonesia’s product market share in Vietnam. This additional route service is expected to make it easier for businessmen to take advantage of the enormous potential for market expansion to Southeast Asian countries, as well as increasing the bilateral relationship between Indonesia and Vietnam,” David added.
